The Pitcher plant lives on insects drawn to it by the
nectar that the plant makes. They get inside the tub
structure of the Pitcher plant which is lined with downward pointing
hairs. This allows the insects to crawl inside the plant but
when they try to go back up they are trapped by the hairs.
The insects die and their decaying remains give the Pitcher
plant the nutrients it needs to thrive.

There is number of small animals such as spiders and
frogs that live on insects that wait around the pitcher
plants for the insects that are attracted by it's nectar.

There are different varieties of the Pitcher plant but the most
noticeable of them are the Trumpet Pitcher Plant.
